RATIFICATION As this handbook is a guide to the duties of officers of the lodge, this handbook shall be adopted by a 2/3 majority at a meeting of the lodge executive committee. (Ratified on June 22, 1980) AMENDMENT Amendments may be proposed at any time by a member of the lodge executive committee or an officer-elect of the lodge. Amendments shall be adopted by a 2/3 majority at a lodge executive committee meeting. Cost This information and notebook cost each officer, chairman, and advisors (aid) ten dollars, which will be returned to him upon termination of his office at which time he returns the notebook. This must be accomplished within 60 days of his termination or there will be no refund. ARTICLE I Name and Affiliation A. The name of the Order of the Arrow lodge shall be AG-IM. 156, WWW "It shall be known that this lodge is a combination of three previous lodges that existed prior to the formation of Hiawathaland Council in 1945. The lodges preceding AG-IM 156 were: North Woods Circle Lodge #156, Copper Country Council: Ottawa Lodge #198, Iron Range Council: Minnewasca Lodge #250, Red Buck Council." B. The lodge shall be affiliated with the Hiawathaland Council, B.S.A., and shall be supervised by the Council Camping and Activities Committee. The lodge is under the administrative authority of the Scout Executive. ARTICLE II Totem and Flap A. The totem of AG-IM Lodge is the Michigan snowshoe. B. The lodge flap shall be a gold border, black background, white lettering, red arrow, and two light brown Michigan snowshoes crossed. 1. The flap shall be worn only by active members. 2. It is the tradition of the lodge that members be allowed only two laps. C. The lodge trading flap shall have a distinguishable difference from the regular lodge flap. 1. Any member of the lodge may at any time purchase as many trading flaps as he/she desires. Adopted 6/75. 2. Trading flaps may be worn on the uniform. D. Anniversary and other special flaps may be worn on the uniform only with the specific approval of the lodge executive committee. ARTICLE III Membership The requirements for membership in the lodge and the conduct of the Ordeal shall be in accordance with the procedure found in the most current printing of the Order of the Arrow handbook. The method of election will be in accordance with Jason Kerschke's proposal that was adopted 8-97. ARTICLE IV Brotherhood and Vigil Honor A. The Brotherhood membership shall be conferred in accordance with the procedure found in the current Order of the Arrow handbook. B. The conferring of the Vigil Honor shall be in accordance with the procedure stated in the current Order of the Arrow handbook. |
