We'll check out the Grampus 8, Nagoya's soccer/football team and then head out for some fun 'n games! Meet at 6pm at Mizuho Station. The game starts at 7pm at Mizuho Arena. Tickets are about 2,000yen for general seating. You can buy them there or at a combini, like Circle K, ahead of time. Call Kathy on her keitai if you are lost or late!

16th ULTIMATE Frisbee (Sunday)
Come play this kick-ass game in a park on a Sunday afternoon! For those of you leaving, this is a good last chance to hang with the crew. Starts about 1pm. Tentatively scheduled in Toyota, which is a 40-minute train ride out of Nagoya.

13th-15th Obon Festival
This is a festival to honour the dead, from the recently departed to ancient ancestors. Fires are kept burning outside of houses to light the way home for spirits, special ceremonies are held for those who have died in the last year and communities gather in traditional costumes to play music, dance and drink around a large red and white striped paltform. Although this is not an official holiday, many people travel back to their hometowns for this festival, so many things are closed.

26th Pottery Workshop in Seto
One of the oldest (locals would argue the best) pottery centres in Japan, famous for the setomono pottery style.
