Bass Landing is the best playstaion fishing game that I have played. It is published by Agetec and produced by ASCII. Bass Landing, unlike other fishing games, involves some skill, some technique you have to do catch a certain fish with a certain lure.

Graphics The graphics of Bass Landing, to tell the truth, really aren't that good. The demo before the game is really detailed and the fish are kind of detailed when you pick it up or watch the replay, but the sceneary is very grainy. It looks like one of the old playstation game. The trees don't look like they're 3-D but the water looks really good and some of the structures like the boats on the lake look good. The graphics aren't horrible but they can use inprovement. In a 1-10 scale I would give the grapics a 8.

Gameplay The gameplay of Bass Landing is excellent. This fishing video game lets you ride around the lake, having you pick the spot to fish, involving some skill. They give you a depth finder for some help. The vibrating fishing controller really gives you the the fell of fishing. You even have to set the hook by jerking it backwards. After you set the hook, you have to land the fish. This part of the game is really fun because you could be fighting a huge 10lb bass for about 8 minutes, trying to keep the fish on the hook. Some might suffer "hook offs" early in there fishing career, but after you become skilled, the fish will feel your wrath. There are 4 modes in this game. Free Fishing, Tornament Mode, Tutorial mode and Record mode. Free fishing mode is um... well Free fishing. This allows you to choose how you want to fish, like in what weather and in what season. You are able to fish freely. Tournament Mode is where you face 7 fishing tournaments to see if you can become Bass Angler of the year. I find it hard to get bored with this mode. I can play it over and over again. Tutorial mode teaches you how to fish in this game and has tips on how to fish in real life. It has many tests that have to be and known and mastered. I recommend going through this before playing the game. Record mode is a very useful mode. It keeps the record of the top ten heaviest fish of all 14 different species in the game. Not only will this earn you bragging rights if you have the heaviest fishs out of your friends but also can teach you what a certain fish likes as a lure, where they are found, and what time they like. Going through all of your fish you can draw out that information and will be able to catch any fish.

With the fourteen types of fish:
  • Largemouth Bass
  • Smallmouth Bass
  • Spotted Bass
  • Florida Bass
  • Brown Trout
  • Rainbow Trout
  • Cherry Trout
  • Lake Biwa Trout
  • Snake Head
  • Catfish
  • Bluegill
  • Carp
  • Silver Carp
  • Bighead Carp
It's hard to get bored. There are 20 different lures to choose from and 40 different rod, reels, and line options. I will give it a 9.

Sound There are two parts of sound. The Music and The Sound effects. Lets talk about the good first, the sound effects. The boat motor, water splashing and the sound of you reeling in are all great sound effects. The sound effects are really good. But the Music, wow!, That is probably, no definitly, the worst part of the game. The lamest music I have ever heard. But that god you could just turn it off in the options. For sound, i will give it a 7 thanks to the ability to turn off the music.
