things fannish...

When I started this site, I'd only written one piece, with a couple of other little things underway. I didn't anticipate churning out a bunch of Sentinel ficlets, but that came much later. What I expected -- and failed to deliver -- was recs.

My views on recs... I'm an absolutely voracious reader of slash. I try to keep documentation on what stories I really like, but it tends to be rather random. As a rabid reader, I know I love finding a nice juicy page of links, hopefully that I haven't read all of already... You aren't going to find much of that here though... it was my dream, but I never manage it. I try to be polite and ask everyone before linking to them, but do I ever get around to the asking? Of course not. Hence we've got a few great X-Files recs, and lots of big ideas. :-) For a long time I had empty rec pages up with the thought that it would encourage me to populate them; it didn't, and I've taken them down so as not to taunt you.

But hey, at least I did come up with some actual stories of my own!

And of course, the disclaimer: the media & characters on which these stories are based are the rightful property of their copyright owners, no copyright infringement intended and no money being made by me. Thanks for letting us play.

The Sentinel

My latest fandom (yes, I'm always late) -- it struck hard and won't let me go. It's my drabble fandom -- at least one a week, and the occasional longer piece, making it my most prolific fandom as well.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer

Spike/Xander is my slash pairing of choice in Buffydom, I read it endlessly though I've been away from it a bit because I've had to feed my Sentinel obsession. Despite the fact that I prefer Spike/Xander, somehow I ended up writing a Spike/Andrew as well... and my longest Spike/Xander isn't finished yet...

X-Files

Skinner is my idol. ;-) Mulder/Skinner is my most beloved X-Files pairing... that's why I started writing a Skinner/Giles BtVS/X-F crossover. Yeah... But 'til that's done (some year or another!) I just have some recs -- but hey, that's better than the rest of my fandoms, which I've never managed to put the recs pages together for. :-)

Other Fandoms

Lord of the Rings RPS

I was addicted to the LOTR Real Person Slash fandom for many months. I only wrote one piece worth showing (and am now more or less out of that fandom so I won't be writing any more). It's not very slashy (I wrote it such that one can read the relationship as either close friends or something more), virtually nothing happens, and it's a songfic — between all of that, it should turn just about everyone off. :-) But I still like it. It's a Billy/Dom piece, originally written in June 2002.

Disclaimer here, and then again before the story: This is completely a work of fiction. No money is being made from this work, no offense is intended by this work. I don't know the real people who inspired these fictional characters. This is not real, they didn't do this. And so on.

Star Trek

I'm a fan of most Trek -- made my personal debut very near the time that "The Original Series" did, so perhaps it's fate. :-) In terms of slash, Voyager is my true love: Tom Paris & Harry Kim make me want to break into fangirl acronyms proclaiming their perfection as a couple. :-) There is a lot of great P/K out there, but there is a lot that I can't stand, so I intended to put up recs. Having failed to do so, I've taken down the empty page... but I love these two so much that I still wanted to give them their own little section. :-)

Miscellaneous...

Other fandoms which I am interested in but don't currently intend to write are Kung Fu: The Legend Continues (Peter/Kermit -- oh yeah ;-) ), Descendants of Darkness, and Gatchaman. I find I'll read well-written stuff in fandoms I've never even seen a single ep of, but I don't do it very often. (And I like to watch Queer As Folk but don't read the fic.)

I'm all for femslash as well, but I find that the female characters that I like in the fandoms I'm interested in don't have suitable (to my taste) females to be slashed with. Scully, Seven of Nine, and Jadzia Dax would be great, but except for a couple cross-overs that created pairings out of those three, I don't think there's much hope for them.
