Marbled Glass Balls

This is a beautiful and very simple to make craft. You will need clear glass ornament balls, acrylic paint, something to drain paint onto, papertowls, and ribbons, lace, beads and other decorations.

Start by taking the insert hanger pieces out of the balls. Place a few drops of several different colors of paint into a ball, cover hole with a papertowl, and shake the ball like a dickens. (This is a good way to release some of that holiday stress).Place ball upside down and drain out excess paint. Let dry for several days before you replace the top.

Decorate as you wish. I use ribbons, lace, and beads to decorate the top. Another idea would be to paint designs (like snowflakes) on the outside using clear glitter paint or the new artificial snow paint.

Sugar Ornaments

Mix 1 ½ Cups of sugar with 3 tablespoons of water. If desired, add several drops of food coloring and mix well. Spoon some of the mixture into a cookie cutter or jello mold. Tap on the cutter or invert the mold to remove the shape. When dry, punch hole in top and string with yarn to hang. The sugar with glisten in the lights. The thicker you make the oranment, the more durable it will be. This is an easy and fun one for the kids to do.
