May 2006 "25th Anniversary" Our Utahime, Akina Nakamori celebrates her 25th anniversary in her show business on 1 May. 25 years! Can it really be that long? Before her debut, Akina had three attempts at "Star Tanjo", in 1979, 1980 and 1981. She sang Yamaguchi Momoe's "Yume Saki Annai Nin" on her third attempt on 18 November, 1981. She won the contest. Then she went to America to have her studio recording of her debut single and album in March 1982. On 1st May, 1982, her debut single "Slow Motion" released. The highest position of "Slow Motion" on Oricon Single Chart was 30. Akina's first album "Prologue" released on 1 July, 1982 and the highest position was 7. Her second single "Shojo A" released on 28th July, 1982. It reached number 5 on the chart and it was Akina's first top 10 single. Akina's third single "Second Love" released on 10th November, 1982. It topped the Oricon Single Chart for 6 weeks. Akina is the most popular singer since the release of "Second Love". In 2006, Akina acts in a TV drama "Primada" from April to June. Her new single "Hana yo odo re" will be released on 17 May. Her new album "Destiantion" will be in stores on 21 June. Akina Box will be in stores on 21 June too.
