I was born in Pontiac Michigan on April 15, 1936. I have a twin brother, a brother three years older than I and a sister eight years younger.

My poems were inspired through experiences that have taken place through the years.

For example, "Old Farmhouse." We lived in an old farmhouse and the memories while living there inspired me to write that poem.

My personal experience with Jesus Christ inspired me to write many of my poems. In fact, I didn't start writing until 1964 at the age of twenty-eight. I was born again on November 14, 1960 when I went to a revival meeting at a little Baptist church. I heard the gospel preached, realized that I was a sinner and that Jesus Christ paid the price for my sins on the cross.
I accepted him at seven o'clock that night, the most precious moment of my life.

I was married when I was seventeen and my husband was eighteen. I have a wonderful husband and father to my five children. We have three sons and two daughters. My children have inspired many of my poems.

Our life has had many happy times but we have also had a lot of heartaches. My husband trusted in the Lord a few months after I did and we went to church together and served the Lord faithfully for about six years. Then we had problems which drew us both out of fellowship with our Lord. I wrote a poem about a dream I had and I really feel that I was being warned of this trouble that was to take place in my life and know if I would have kept my eyes on the Lord and not the events taking place around me I would have had God's peace during this devastating time. But God was faithful and everything worked out. We are happier than we have even been and both are back in fellowship with our Lord.

I want to dedicate these poems to my sister Ruth. She has always encouraged me in writing. I love her and thank the Lord for her. My husband and children who are my life.

But most of all to my Lord Jesus Christ, who gave me the gift of poetry.
