Ancient Words For Today - 4

God's grace is His unmerited favor to us. We cannot earn it; we can only receive it as a gift from God. God gives His grace to us freely when we ask and believe on Him - because He loves us.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son (JESUS), that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16

Until we truly understand that we are perishing (that is, spiritually separated from God because of the sins we each have committed) we cannot understand how crucial God's grace is to us, or how much He loves us. Without God's grace, no person is able to enter the kingdom of God and receive eternal life. But the good news is, that no matter how many sins we have committed or how terrible they may have been, God's grace is sufficient to forgive us for them all.

It is God's will that each of us recognize our sins and turn to God, asking Him to forgive our sins. We can do this only because Jesus died on the cross, taking upon Himself the punishment for our sins, so that we could be forgiven and receive God's grace and eternal life through faith in what Jesus did for us.

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works lest any man should boast. Ephesians 2:8

Have you confessed to God your sins and received His wonderful grace and salvation through Jesus? If so, rejoice with us and forward this message to someone who hasn't. If not, now would be an excellent time to do so.

Thank you Lord for your grace to me a sinner, through your Son Jesus. Help me to live my life in the way that is pleasing to you.
