God, in the beginning, created the heavens and the earth and all that is in them. On the sixth day He created man in His image, and walked with Adam in the Garden of Eden, having fellowship with him. God declared that all His mighty works of creation were good. All was well and at peace in the world God created.
Can you imagine Adam's amazement as he surveyed all that God had made, the abundance of wondrous delights; trees, flowers, fruits, animals, birds, fish - all unspoiled and perfect! How grand it must have been for Adam as he walked with God in the evening, talking with Him and praising Him for His awesome, wonderful works and His goodness to him.
How is it then that God's perfect creation and order has so deteriorated and the world we live in has gotten so full of sin and evil after such perfect beginnings? The answer is Adam's one sin of disobedience to God's commandment, which immediately separated him from God and set in motion the curse of death to Adam and his descendants.
God's greatest work ever was accomplished through His only begotten Son, Jesus. He came from heaven to earth to redeem mankind from the sinful, fallen nature they inherited from Adam, which separates all men from God. Jesus, the perfect lamb of God, took our sins upon Himself on the cross, so that we, who were separated from God, could through faith in Jesus be forgiven our sins, reconciled to God and receive eternal life!
Oh, Give thanks unto the Lord, for He is good: for His mercy endures forever! Psalm 107:1
