Occupation: Juvenile Officer As a juvenile officer, Ray Fremick's job is to take care of all the juvenile cases. The day he meets Jim must have been one of the busiest days in his career, but he has to do his job. He talks to each kid patiently in different rooms. He asks questions and tries to calm them down. In the case of Jim Stark, Ray leads him into a private room and listens to him attentively. He has somehow turned into a fatherly figure to Jim--at least for a while. He is someone Jim could talk to and go for when he is in need. It is a quality Jim cannot find in his own father. Ray does not play a big part in the story, but he certainly is a significant character. |
