Brandy
Chapter Seven
"Oh god don't let her be dead, please don't let her be dead." Faith muttered the mantra over and over has she bent over the body of a not moving Willow. Faith was on the verge of tears as she tried shaking the redhead to the land of the living.
Faith thought back to the night she met the girl. She was so meek it was hard to imagine her as a would be powerful wiccan witch, and the love she had for Oz was incredible. The boy had truly lost the best thing he ever had.
"Come on Red, wake up. Wakey wakey, time to get moving." Faith murmured as she tried to sit the girl up and Willow just fell back on the ground with a loud thud. Faith began to do the most un-Faith like thing, she started to cry. She was losing one of her best friends. She was losing the only person who ever really understood her.
"Faith?" a British voice broke through Faith's mind ramble.
She turned to see a red haired British curse breaker for the wizard bank. He had a look on his face that asked what had happened. Bill Wealsey looked from the unmoving form of Willow Rosenberg-Snape to the shivering and crying form of Faith.
"I don't know what happened, one second we were standing here watching everyone go in the school, and when I turned around she was....Bill is she dead?"
Bill took a closer look at the redhaired girl on the ground and did notice an icy glare coming from her unblinking eyes, and he had one thought.
*Voldermort*
Bill scooped Willow into his arms and waited for Faith to get off the ground. They headed to the school and Bill had one thing on his mind. That Snape deserved to know what happened to his daughter.
Bill stomped up the steps and into the school. He came to a halt when he saw the doors to the Great Hall were closed and he knew Faith was in no state to open the doors. He couldn't reach his wand so he opened it the muggle way. He kicked the doors in.
"POPPY!"
Poppy Pomfery was up at the staff table talking with Minerva when the doors of the Great Hall were kicked inward and in came Bill Weasley with an unconscious Willow. And then he screamed out her name.
"POPPY!"
Poppy went running from her seat to the side of Bill in a matter of seconds. She muttered the words "The Avada Kedavra Curse." The Hall had went silent when Bill had kicked in the doors. And at that moment it went into to state of shock. The redhaired dance Professer was killed with an Unforgivable Curse.
Giles made a move to go to Faith's side and was held back by Albus Dumbledore. He drug Giles off to the staff lounge and told him. "Get her friends. They should be here." and handed Giles a bag of floo powder. Giles threw in some powder and waited for the flames to go green and then shouted out his destination and jumped in.
Back in the Great Hall Ron was doing his best to hold up an outraged with anger Dawn. The girl was crying uncontrollably and asking if they could bring her back. Poppy made a small gesture for Bill to follow her and they headed out the doors. Faith and Dawn went to follow but were stoped by Dumbeldore.
"You should be in here. There is nothing you can do at the moment."
Faith and Dawn were ushered to take seats next to the Weasleys. Albus had a sympathetic expression on his face. He was also watching Severus closely. The man had not moved at all since Poppy uttered those four words.
Severus was sitting at the staff table, eyes ahead looking at the far wall. He was trying to stare a whole in it.
At that moment the staff lounge door swung open and out walked an irate blonde and a upset brunette haired man. The blonde was looking around as if searching for someone. And a moment later a black haired young man came running out of the room and up to Dumbledore.
"Where is she?" he asked in a voice that left no argument that these where Willow's friends from home.
Dumbeldore told the young man how to get to the infirmary. And the boy was gone in a heartbeat. The others made to follow, but like Faith and Dawn they were stopped.
"I think it is best to give him a few minutes alone with her kids." Giles said as he wrapped his arm around a sobbing black haired woman.
"How did this happen?" asked the blonde girl as she was enveloped into a hug by Dawn. She rubbed the younger blonde's hair in a soothing manner.
"I don't know what happened B, I mean, one minute we were watching the students go in the school and then she was laying on the ground." Came the whispered reply.
"You were suppose to protect her! That was the agreement Faith! God, how could you let this happen. I just lost my best friend because you were making goo goo eyes at some guys."
"Don't you even go there Buffy! I was right there with her and that stupid curse could have hit me or her! And right now I wish it HAD hit me instead! But I think you need to take a closer look at the picture here B. We aren't the ones that are hurting the worst here! Take a look at the table. See that man? That is Red's FATHER! He just lost a daughter. And XANDER just lost his best friend since birth! We aren't the only ones in pain here, they're the one that's in worse pain!" Faith shouted and broke down in tears once again, but instead of falling to the floor, Charlie caught her and through her haze she noticed him sending Buffy death glares.
Buffy was looking back from the table to Faith. The man at the table was fighting back the urge to hit something.
"Willow's dad." was the thing that came from her mouth.
Poppy and Bill chose that moment to come back in the room.
"That guy Xander is with her. I thought it would be best to let him have some time alone with her b.....with her." Poppy stated as she walked up to Dumbledore.
"I don't think I have ever seen a man cry that much." Bill murmured, sitting down with his family. And he could not help but notice his brother Percy sending Charlie some evil looks.
In the infirmary Xander was silently rocking back and forth on the bed with his best friend's body in his lap. He was crying and he really didn't care. He just lost the only sister he ever really had.
"You know Wills, all my life you have been there for me. And when you needed me most, I was a world away. God how I failed you. I am so sorry I wasn't there with you. I am not ready to live my life without my bestest bud."
