SOS Opening |
The rape trial is over, and Ryan & Gillian have been estranged ever since. They are just now beginning to recover from the fallout, as yet another set of circumstances pushes them closer together - and further apart. |
It's opening night at "Sounds of Salsa", Pine Valley's newest club, and since Mateo is late, there is no one to kick off the evening. Getting a last minute idea, Hayley has just announced to the crowd that, in a change of plans, Ryan & Gillian Lavery will now be sharing the first dance. Reluctantly pushed into the spotlight together, their feelings take over as they share a heated dance. |

Almost a Love Song (Casi Un Bolero) In this empty house, there's an echo Of your laughter haunting me. Is it your voice in my memory? Or the wind being cruel and taunting me? |
Loneliness is my only friend. Faithful and constant to the end. When I look back at happiness, I will remember you. We were almost a love song. |
I wish that I could bring you back to me. You're my missing melody. I wish my words could move your heart to see That you belong here next to me. |
And as the wind keeps gently sighing, With every breath your name I'm crying. |
After sharing the opening dance, Ryan & Gillian both agreed to another, but Ryan was called away on business. Later in the evening, he found her again just as she was going outside for some air. In the back alley of SOS, Gillian congratulated Ryan on his success, before beginning the fateful discussion that would change both their lives. |

G: There is something that I have to tell you. But before I do that, there is something I got to do. And you're probably going to be mad at me, and I know I'm not supposed to, but I have to. |

G: Oh, I'm -- I shouldn't have. I'm sorry. R: No, no. Princess, this is what I'm trying to tell you. G: No, you -- R: No, I want to tell you this. G: No, No, No. You don't have to tell me, because I -- I already know. I'm --I'm letting you go, Ryan. You're free. I filed for divorce. |
Though Ryan was still too afraid of hurting Gillian to commit to a future with her, the announcement was the last thing he had expected, and he was devested. Gillian, who didn't want the divorce either, had hoped somewhere deep inside that Ryan would step up and stop her, but he was too proud to admit his true feelings. |
Gillian spent the remainder of the night dancing with Jake, and getting completely drunk, while Ryan sadly looked on. However, at the end of the night, Jake was called away to the hospital, leaving Ryan with the task of getting the much tipsy Gillian home to bed. |
