Life imitating art imitating life is a hit again! As expected, Wag the Dragon is earning rave reviews from the spinners and grove-tube public. It  is masterfully diverting  attention from the domestic terror being contrived by Regime Productions. Sequels are sure to follow soon....Stay tuned...

     The hottest release in D.C.,
Wag The Dragon, is being hailed as an impressive beginning to a propaganda blitz by Regime Productions. The in-house agency uses a range of media to tell and sell its stories: film, video, broadcast, print, live performance -- including taped, live taped, scripted, and scripted un-scripted. Though no one publicly admits to knowing or being part of Regime Productions or its "Wag The" projects, little more than a wink and nod will get one or two silver-tipped, insider tongues a waggin'  with pride.

Continued rumblings from the masses and alternative media about Coup2K and the Regime's unmandated executive orders during the last two months have seemed to have little impact on the Gang's agenda. Recently, however, they have started to chafe under public and media scrutiny as well as criticism by a few emboldened members from both parties in Congress. From campaign finance reform to defending the Arctic Refuge, King George and the House of War Lords have not been able to rule with an iron fist. They have also recoiled from a word that they thought to never hear directed at them again: no.

With the Regime's uncompassionate budget and "tax cut for friends" now up for discussion, plus growing opposition to its determination to rape protected lands, the Resident's popularity has sunk to an all-time low. Add to this the upcoming sale of arms to Taiwan and other goodies planned to reward industrial/corporate/military supporters in the near future, and the handlers–bright demons that they are–realized that another big propaganda coup was needed.

Yet few expected that getting classified technology to China and creating an incident to build public support for increased military spending (in order to protect America and the world from the Great Red Demon) would be so easy. Producers, financiers, and other interested parties unanimously agree that the release of Wag The Dragon was pure genius.

American Liberal caught up with many of the key players at a recent private shindig for cast, crew, contributors, promoters, and profiteers of the project.

Asked if he thought his latest scheme would fare as well as the recent presidential campaign, Herr Karl chuckled mirthlessly, "Nein. It's hard to top pulling off zee first coup ever in zee United States."

The Mother of all Marys, once again reminding us that her remarkable ventriloquist talent is being wasted on herself, began to drone on cue, "Since when is winning an election a coup? There is absolutely no proof whatsoever that George W. Bush did anything but win the Office with widespread, patriotic support from citizens of the United States of America. No one has been able to come forward with one piece of substantial evidence --"

She was cut off by shrieks from Kakey-face Harris (Revlon is a key donor, after all) and Sandra Pray A'Conner. We turned to view a hideous sight as both women gaped (in horror or admiration was a matter of opinion) at a hairy butt pressed against a window.

"Oh, don’t mind him, it's just Serpent Head," sighed Mary before calmly draining her champagne flute.

American Liberal pressed Herr Karl, "Given that Dragon was created simultaneously in several parts of the world and had a multi-national cast, many are speculating that you were not calling the shots. That perhaps greater powers behind the scenes were directing most of the action."

Eyes void of all human emotion stared through American Liberal, "Nothing and no one escapes the Roving Eye."

American Liberal raised a doubting brow and stared backed, unflinching.

"I wonder," he mused  with deathly calm, "if a web site vanishes and there is no one there to see it, did it ever exist?" He took a puff from his Cuban cigar and methodically blew smoke ring into smoke ring into smoke ring smoke ring….

"Was a nice effort, but wait until Star Wars: Revenge of  Bonzo comes out!  Then we’ll see some fireworks!” Ron Dumbsfield, Producer - Conflict & Undeclared War Division, chimed in glibly as he fanned the cigar smoke away from his face.

Con Chevron strolled over. "Don't forget Poppy D., you promised to name a weapon after me."

     T
hey smiled knowingly at one another.

When asked about his first reaction to Wag the Dragon Rich Brainey dead panned, "My heart stopped."

Overhearing the comment, his wife, Hen, choked on her wine, spewing it all over Dubya's face. Millie's matron's  eyes popped briefly from their sockets as she gasped in horror and attempted to wipe his smirking mug with a napkin, but he squirmed away.

"Nah, momma! Git, git away! I wanna lick it off!" whined the adamantly self-described tea tottler. Or is that toddler?

The family patriarch sniffed in disdain at his prodigy'’s imprudence.

The premise of Wag The Dragon is flimsy, but seems to have been enough to draw in and hold the attention of most of the media and general public:

A U.S. Navy EP-3E Aries II surveillance plane is flying close to or in Chinese airspace while being shadowed by two Chinese navel F-8 fighter jets. Suddenly, and without provocation by either side, one of the Chinese planes bumps the Aries II or vice versa, depending on where you are sitting in the world theater. The Chinese plane and pilot plummet into the sea, presumably never to be seen again.

Written in March 2001, this satirical commentary hit the nail on the head! Truly cutting edge, it appeared months and years ahead of realizations by other writers and activists. It reveals how Regime Productions, masterfully produces confusion and  terror through staged and intentioned crisis in order to keep the American Public fearful, and deflect investigation and revelation of  the domestic enemy:  the totalitarian minded that are currently controlling our government and corporations.
