Forever~ chapter 3

"All right," Brian said quietly. "Let's go with her." When Nick motioned for Jessica to join them, Brian saw her face light up and he couldn't help but smile. A few minutes later, introductions had been made and she was sitting next to Nick.

"We'll be leaving in one week,"  Nick told her. "You can stay with some of us until then if you'd like."

"Are you sure I wouldn't be imposing? I mean, I could always stay at a hotel or something; it's not a big deal." Her voice caused Brian's head to snap up. It was angelic; strange yet so familiar- one he had heard in his dreams even when he had been with Heather. He knew then that she was his soulmate; the one he had been destined to be with; the one ha had dreamed of but never knew, until now. Inside his heart broke into a million pieces. he had searched for her for so long, but now he denied the truth; he knew he could love only Heather. He would have to fight destiny.

Brian barely listened as they worked out the rest of the details of the tour. Kevin noticed there was something wrong with his cousin, but when he questioned Brian with his eyes, Brian gave him a 'don't-even-ask-me-that' look and Kevin decided to leave him alone.

Brian wasn't himself for the next two days. He just laid around the house and refused to answer any questions the guys asked him. He was so lost in his own world that he barely notice Jessica moving in with him and Nick, and he refused to join her and the guys for a night on the town. he had decided that it would be better if he just stayed awawy from jessica as much as possible. She was quite happy in her own life and he saw no reason to complicate things with her boyfriend by telling her what he had discovered. After everyone left, Brian just laid down on his bed and tried to clear his mind. After about an hour, he gave up and decided that sleep would help more than anything.

Meanwhile...
Jessica walked slowly back into the club looking everywhere for any sign of the guys. She caught sight of Nick but quickly turned the other way. 'How could Jason think that I had something going on with Nick?' she asked herself. She looked around After the fight she and her boyfriend had just had, Nick was not the person she wanted to talk to. 'Brian,' she thought suddenly and immediately felt embarrassed. Brian had completely ignored her for the past two days, and that had only made her think of him more. She wanted to talk to him, get to know him, but he was so cold and distant that she didn't know if she would ever get the chance. 'Then why am I always drawn to him instead of the others?' she wondered.

Suddenly, she caught sight of AJ and ran over to him. "Hey, AJ, I'm not feeling too well so I think I'm gonna take a cab and go home," she said softly.

"Is everything okay, Jess?" he asked suspiciously. "You want me to take you home?"

"No. I'll be fine. You stay here and make sure that the other guys stay out of trouble."

"Okay, but I'm gonna call Brian and make sure that he checks on you regularly," AJ told her in a protective tone. Jessica blushed as she walked out of the club, leaving AJ to wonder what was going on with her.

Brian had just fallen asleep when he heard the phone ring. "This better be good." he said into the receiver.

"Hello to you, too, Sunshine," AJ said sarcastically.

"What do you want, Bone?" Brian asked as he looked at the clock. It was only 12:06.

"Is Jessica there yet?"

"Jessica? No. I thought she was with you." Brian's head was hurting from the crying he had done earlier and all this confusion wasn't helping it.

"She was, but now she isn't. She said she was taking a cab home because she didn't feel well. I just wanted to make sure that you check on her, and make sure that she's feeling okay."

"Okay, Bone," Brian mumbled sleepily.

"Brian," AJ asked. "Don't go back to sleep until she gets there, okay?"

"Whatever," Brian said. "Bye." He hung up the phone and fell back on the bed. Seconds later, he heard the front door slam, and saw Jessica go by his open bedroom door.

"Jessica," he called. She stopped and slowly entered his room. She hesitated before laying down beside him. "What are you doing home so early?"

"I told the guys that I wasn't feeling well so I came back here." Se looked up at him and noticed that he had been crying. "What's wrong, Brian?" Her eyes showed so much concern that Brian wanted to answer with the truth, but then thought better of it.
