Forever~ Chapter 5 The next morning, Jessica came downstairs to find all five guys sitting around Brian and Nick's table. She was quite surprised to see that Brian had come down for breakfast. It was the first time in three days that he had eaten any meal with them. She sat down next to Brian and began to eat before she realized that all eyes were on her and Brian. "What?" she asked in a confused tone. "What did you do to Brian to make him so happy? Did you guys get it on last night or something?" Jessica detected a slight hint of jealousy in AJ's voice. "No," Jessica answered as she looked at Brian. "We just talked a little bit. We didn't do anything." "Look at that grin on his face," Nick said. "You played with his hair didn't you? He loves it when girls do that." Brian laughed as he messed up Nick's hair. "Yeah, Nicky," he said with a smile. " I let her play with my hair." Nick looked at him cooly. A few minutes later, Nick excused himself and headed for the back porch. Brian got up and followed his best friend. "What's wrong, Frack?" Brian asked him once they were outside. "Do you always get what you want?" Nick looked at Brian intently. "Did you have to want her, too?" "Nick, c'mon. It's not that way. I'm just getting to know her. We're just friends." "Why do you have to be friends with her? Bone and I thought we might have a shot with her; then you started flirting with her last night and now she can't take her eyes off of you." "Nick! I didn't flirt with her. She came into my room to talk; we were both upset." Brian was shocked that Nick would accuse him of trying to steal Jessica from him. "Bri, you let her play in your hair. I know you and you don't let just anyone get that close to you. How long has it been, Bri?" Nick paused. "Not since Heather have you let anyone get that close to you." "Are you trying to make me feel guilty, Nick?" "No. If you're telling me the truth then it won't make you feel guilty. I just don't wanna see you hurt her. I want you to move on with your life, Bri, but not until you're ready. Don't hurt her." "I promise, Nick, but I swear there's nothing going on between us."
