Forever~ Chapter 9

Jessica awoke the next morning to find Brian missing from the couch. She looked around frantically until she heard his sweet voice coming from the kitchen. She walked toward the door and watched him as he cooked breakfast. She couldn't believe how handsome he looked in just his shorts and blue Kentucky hat that he wore backwards. She smiled at him as he danced around the kitchen singing to his Boyz II Men CD.

"Bravo," she said when he was done singing. He turned around and gave her a cute playful grin.

"How long have you been there?" he asked, coming over to give her a big hug.

"Long enough," she replied teasingly. "What do you have planned for today?"

"I was gonna go shoot some basketball. Then, I've got a meeting at 11:00. After that, I'm yours."

"You're mine anyway," Jessica said as she kissed him. "Do you mind if I shoot hoops with you?" she asked sweetly.

"Not at all. C'mon, let's go." He grabbed her hand and pulled her outside. Midway through their game, rain began pouring down, but they continued to play. Suddenly, Brian stopped dribbling and squatted down with his head between his knees. Jessica caught a glimpse of his face and saw that it was contorted with pain. She immediately ran to him.

"Brian, are you okay? What's wrong?" she asked frantically.
