The writing of others is an invaluable resource. Style, character development, and exposition are handled differently by different authors. I have read quite a bit over the years; too much to possibly remember them all. The following is not inclusive of all that I have read, but it lists the authors and titles that I considered the most memorable. If there are some authors or titles not listed here that you think are worth a read, email me so that I can check them out. Included are some titles that are not Science Fiction or Fantasy [DICKINSON, EMILY, and SHAARA, MICHAEL] but, in my opinion, worth checking out.

  • This was the first book of Stephen King's that I read and was a true turning point for me and reading.  Before this book I swore that I did not like to read.  I opened it at around five P.M. when I next looked up, it was four o'clock in the morning.  I've been an avid reader ever since.

  • I read this story in OMNI Magazine back in Oct 85 and it has stayed with me ever since.  Until recently, I had no idea who had written it.  After emailing OMNI I received a copy.  I searched the net via Yahoo armed with his name and found him instantly.  I had no idea that he was such a celebrated author.  Winner of the Nebula, nominated for the Hugo and with several other works to his credit, it is no wonder that this story is a masterpiece.  "If you have the means, I highly recommend picking it up"
