(This is the log of Bryan Stone, leader of the Cyberspace Task Force GammaRanger. Entry for March 20, 1998...
As the Namrock virus begins to become a prevalent evil force on Earth, Bryan assembles a team of the four new friends he made. Using their knowledge, skills, and connection to Stone Laboratories, they manage to retrieve the Filecoins. This comes after Bryan's Jupiter Filecoin fails him. He realizes that without all five Coins in activation, his power will become weak over time. Once the team retrieves the remaining four Coins, they are given Cyber Loaders and permission for transmutation from the Filecoins. The Cyberspace Task Force GammaRanger is now in full operation.)
(The scene: Stone Laboratories, a few days ago. The Channel 9 News Van is at the site where the GammaRanger first transformed and first fought the Balzac as a team. Annie Stewart, lead reporter for Channel 9, is doing a follow-up story to the fight.)
Annie: I am standing here outside Stone Laboratories, where researchers bore witness to a miracle. An unidentified class of aliens raided the labs and tried to take all their computer equipment. The next thing the knew, five costumed fighters came in here and literally cleaned the aliens out. No one knows where they came from or who they are, but the Stone Labs faculty owes them a huge debt of gratitude. This is Annie Stewart, Channel 9 News... Now back to you in the studio, Vin.
(The live camera shuts off.)
Are we clear yet? Good. (strings up her mic while thinking to herself) There has to be some way I can find out who they are...
(Meanwhile, on the other side of town, in the residence of Scottie Scott, preparations are underway for what appears to be a very long fight.)
Eric: Hey, Amy... Can I get some more ice?
Amy: Get some yourself. And while you're up, get me some.
Scottie: There. (gives the Rangers their Cyber Loaders) Now they have full Internet access, can receive E-mail, and can function as three-way communicators.
Amy: (sarcastically) Yeah, but can we still transform?
Bryan: Well, considering that I helped him with R&D...
Amy: Alright, I'll bite... (isolates herself, getting ready to transform) Venus File, DOWNLOAD!
(Amy transforms into YellowVenus.)
Eric: Well, at least it still works...
YellowVenus: And how... This is so cool.. (reverts)
Bryan: Now test two... Laura, can you see me on your Cyber Loader screen?
Laura: ... (Looks at her Cyber Loader) Yeah I can see that.
(As the Rangers prepare themselves physically, mentally, and spiritually, the Namrocks have a few perparations of their own...)
Namrock: Rhexus, are you finished yet? I need a Betavirus now!
Rhexus: (in the Digital Arena) The finishing touches are being made right now. They are being equipped with a program that stimulates the User's brain and allows us to control them. (brings up screen) The first I'd like to call Beta Blade, because of his saber-like arms and buzzsaw missiles. What do you think, Sire?
Namrock: Are they designed to destroy?
Rhexus: Most definitely, sire.
Namrock: Excellent.... Upload Beta Blade; anoint your sword!
(Lord Namrock pushes his main control button and materializes Beta Blade. The metallic monster had sword-like extensions on his head and shoulders, with shorter protrusions on his fists, knees, and chest. He had two swords which he swung fiercely.)
Beta Blade: Beta Blade ready.
Namrock: How strong are you?
Beta Blade: As strong as it takes, my lord.
Namrock: Good. Galevan, go with Beta Blade and find some way to attract the GammaRanger.
Galevan: I bet you that he doesn't even know how to attract a drunken User.
Beta Blade: (after Blasting a robotic duplicate of a GammaRanger) What would you say about that, Galevan?
Galevan: Forget about the Rangers... It's time to fight me!
Namrock: SILENCE! Beta Blade, Go to the Userworld and create a diversion.
Galevan: I'll go just to shut this loser warrior up!
Beta Blade: NO! He wants to get the job done! I shall go myself.
(As the Beta Monster transloads to Earth, Annie Stewart is filing another report, where something in the distance is quite queer...)
Annie: ... And as you can see, these homosexual activists are marching to a different drummer as they continue to fight for Larry Boyle's reinstatement. The member of the band Cold Turkeys was arrested for hitting on a plainclothes officer earlier this week. Outside Tradewinds City Hall, This is Annie Stewart for Channel 9 News.
(As Beta Blade approaches Earth, he appears to be a Grid-lined figure. He must feed off of a human or other life form in order to become a material threat.)
Beta Blade: A life form to infect. I've found one!
Annie: Hmm... long day. (after hearing noises) Hmm... What's that? Gus, get the camera... (Gus gets the camera) Are you getting this?
Gus, the cameraman: I'm getting this. Annie, behind you! (As the camera rolls, Annie begins to become attacked.)
Annie: Hey... What's going on?
(The camera buzzes, then suddenly turns back on.)
Gus: Are you okay, Annie?
Annie: Fine. Who are you anyway?
Gus: Don't you remember me? I'm Gus, your "favorite cameraman."
Annie: Gus... (pauses) get that camera out of my face! (pushes camera out of her way) I have to find out who the Rangers are so I can get them out in the open.
Gus: Who pissed in your Corn Flakes?
(On the other side of town, the Rangers begin scouting the city for any signs of danger.)
Eric: Let me get this straight... We need to scout the city for signs of danger, so we're using TV?
Bryan: You take televised news for granted now, but in twenty-five years, it will be the only thing on.
Eric: Scary.
Laura: (Enters) I just checked channels 3, 7, and 15. Nothing except "The Addams Family," "Looney Tunes," and Jerry Springer.
Amy: Eric, you want to talk about scary?
Eric: Quiet, you.
Scottie: (Entering) Quick! Turn on Channel 9! You're not going to believe this.
Vin Harlock: Our own Annie Stewart is ransacking the downtown shopping district. Police and EMS have alrealdy been notified. Our reporters have yet to reach her for comment. We'll bring you more as soon as this story develops.
Bryan: I can tell you right now, the police can't do anything.
Laura: I don't know, isn't this what the police is supposed to do?
Bryan: It is, but this is more than just civil disobedience. This has all of the earmarks of a Namrock Betavirus. The truth of the matter is, it's up to us to stop her.
Amy: What if it's a trap?
Scottie: That's a chance we have to take.
Bryan: He's right. I say we lock and upload, guys.
Laura: Yeah, pronto.
(The Rangers take the stance.)
Bryan: Ranger file, download!
(All five transform into GammaRanger.)
(Like lightning, they are able to jet to the site of the attack.)
RedJupiter: Over there!
(The Rangers run towards Annie.)
Annie: GammaRanger! I've been waiting for you.
GreenMars: What are you talking about?
Annie: I think Bryan over there knows exactly what I'm talking about?
RedJupiter: What? How did you know...
Annie: Nothing is as it seems, User.
AquaMercury: Wait... You're not Annie Stewart!
Annie (?): Aren't I?... You're quick.
RedJupiter: Neptune, Venus, search this area for anything suspicious.
BlueNeptune and YellowVenus: Right!
RedJupiter: If you see anything, tell me.
BlueNeptune: Got it, chief. (He and YellowVenus run off as Balzac begin to invade the area.)
GreenMars: Clear the Balzac out of here; they have nothing to do with this!
RedNeptune: Maybe they do, Mars...
YellowVenus: Well, they must have something to do with this! They're Balzac aren't they?
(The remaining three Rangers begin to fight the Balzac. Annie(?) begins to fade away in the distance. BlueNeptune and YellowVenus find something odd.)
BlueNeptune: Hey, Venus! Over here! I think I've found something, well... You just have to see it to believe it.
YellowVenus: What did you come up with? (Goes into open stock house) What the... Annie?
(Annie lays motionless, gagged and tied.)
BlueNeptune: Either that or a well-articulated sock puppet.
YellowVenus: Here, I'll set you free.
(Meanwhile, the other Rangers finished fighting the Balzac when BlueNeptune and YellowVenus come in with two unsuspected surprises.)
Annie (?): Behold, my lord. This is where things get interesting!
Namrock: Good.
YellowVenus: Look at what we found... (brings in two Annies).
RedJupiter: Annie? And Annie? Two?
GreenMars: This is really strange.
Annie #1(?): You want strange? I'll show you strange!
(Annie's spirit returns to its rightful body in time for Beta Blade to fully materialize.)
Beta Blade: Now how's that for strange?
AquaMercury: Yeah, that's pretty strange.
Annie: Man, I'm feeling dizzy.
BlueNeptune: Get ready to feel worse. Look!
(Galevan, Rhexus, and Chouzo appear out of nowhere.)
Galevan: Beta Blade, get over here!
Beta Blade: You? You just don't quit, do you...
Chouzo: No really! Lord Namrock wants to try something on you.
Beta Blade: Like what?
(Rhexus shoots a strange particle ionizer at Beta Blade. He begins to undergo a chemcal change... Or should we say, underGROW...)
YellowVenus: What's going on?
Rhexus: This is our newest creation, the Beta Blaster. It... well, you'll see.
(Beta Blade finishes growing. Nw he is the size of Tradewinds City's tallest buildings as Lord Namrock's image appears in the sky.)
Namrock: Now go clain all the Users that your new size will allow.
Beta Blade: Yes, my lord.
(As Beta Blade begins his rampage, the Rangers try and suppress him from the ground.)
RedJupiter: Rangers, BlastDaggers, level 3! (they unsheath their RangerBlasters and reconfigure them to form the DaggerBlasters.) Fire!
(Nothing happens.)
RedJupiter: This looks bigger than we're prepared to handle!
Koike (voice): Not just yet...
(Koike sends the Rangers out of the line of fire and into some disclosed location in the sky.)
