Faryn was the bastard child of Lord Dautinthorn of Cormyr. Never being fully accepted in the aristocracy, she turned to the streets and became a thief at a young age. The Shadow Walkers took notice of her skills and began training her in the ways of a Shadow Walker. It was during a night when she was practicing her art that she first encountered Lochiel, a Rockseer* elf who was enlisted as one of the elite Dragon Mages. The two fell in love. It was then that Faryn was falsely accused of treachery against Lord Dautinthorn, and the two went into exile. That's when their life of adventuring began.
Faryn and Lochiel joined a group of adventurers that included Pytr the hairless cleric, Ailinn McKeown the bard, Xelkyn the paladin, and an assassin who was hired by Lord Dautinthorn to find and kill Faryn. (The assassin decided that adventuring with this group would be more profitable for her in the long run and allowed Faryn to live.) Through many adventures, including some to other worlds and planes, Faryn was slowly corrupted by the dark forces of Ravenloft and eventually ended up killing the paladin. In an act of redemption, she threw herself down the throat of a black dragon to save her fellow party members. As a reward, the gods not only granted her redemption, but they restored her life -- under one condition: she would retain the cat-like qualities she gained when she became corrupted. Now she lives quite happily as a catlord in the Outer Planes.
