The power of LIFE flows everywhere. Even where there is no life there is power that when manipulated correctly can yeild LIFE. So first understand how it is that all that lives or does not live even exists. By the powers of electromagnetism. Yes, it is true that certain aspects of this magic actually are linked to physics. Actually, a lot of it, because this is truly MODERN MAGIC. O.K., for those of you who don't know and those of you who need a refresher this is basically what electromagnetism is. Atoms are made of protons (+ charge) and neutrons (neutral charge) in the nucleus with various orbitals of electrons (- charge) swirling around it being carried by photons which are for the most part described as waves. Striving for balance these electrons often shed and gain electrons in their outermost orbitals attempting to give the atom a neutral charge or fill it's outermost orbitals to the maximum number. (oh yeah, and their called valence electrons...) This way that the electrons are attracted to the protons is called "electromagnetism". It is because of electromagnetism that us and everything arounds us exists the way it does. (So if anybody asks you why we're here you can say "Because of electromagnetism.") O.K. Mainly what you need to know is this. That all of these particles are constantly taking in and emitting waves of energy. ("Energy is neither created or destroyed") Now pay attention IT'S THESE WAVES THAT YOU ARE MANIPULATING FOR MAGIC! You can completely ignore the concept of manipulating the waves of protons, neutrons, and the inner orbital electrons cuz they are intensely attracted. What we are concentrating on are the waves of the electrons the least attracted to the nucleus. Also very important, LIGHT is made of free electrons and photons. This is an excellent energy source.
There is also energy in the heat waves that living things give off and the sound waves of voice and other noises used to communicate. (Oh yeah, and bat radar waves too.) But please try not to get too engrossed in the radar waves. After you've had your fun remember that a main source of power (which could be a bummer for a lot of you) is light.
Think of yourself as a receptor of these waves, a manipulator of these waves, a tranmitter of these waves. You are collecting these waves OF LIFE to use in your magic.
