C309

    October 1993:

    ACTION-ADVENTURE.

    No depth. Just events. And some good character work on Spock and McCoy.

    It is so strange to see a Star Trek that says nothing at all. Instead you get all this mumbo-jumbo about co-existing universes.

Characters:

Spock, McCoy;

Scott;

Uhura, Chekov;

Sulu, Christine, Kirk.

    It's a bit weird to have no Kirk on duty.

    The FX are good. The opening on the Defiant is also very good. Uhura gets a little bit to do.

    Best Scene: Scotty treats the anti-dote as a spirit. That scene is very funny indeed.

    At the end, Spock lies. Why? Vulcans never lie. Besides what were he and Bones ashamed of?

    There is nothing wrong with this episode. A well-conceived story, with action and suspense. Perhaps a little too Irwin-Allen-esque for it's own good. And what are those daft suits for?
