2232 - Janice Rand is born
2249 - Wanted to enter the academy when she was 18, but could
not wait so she entered the service as a crewman.
2266 - Joined the Enterprise under Captain Kirk as the Captain's yeoman.
Rand was a qualified bridge crewmember, and took the helm
on occasion.
2267 - Transferred from the Enterprise to ?
She left the ship at Starbase 11.
2270 - Returned to the Enterprise as a transporter chief
2276 - Joined Starfleet Academy's special two year program
2278 - Graduated the academy, and served as an ensign at
various starbases.
2285 - Promoted to Lieutanant, and transferred to Starfleet
Headquarters on Earth.
2286 - Was instrumental in directing emergency operations
after Earth was devasted by an alien space probe.
Hence was promoted to Lieutanant Commander.
2290 - When Hikaru Sulu became Captain of the Excelsior,
he personally requested Lieutanant Commander Janice Rand
to be assigned as the ships's Communications/Operations
Officer and third in command.
2293 - Among her many duties, she was put in charge of
the cadet training program abord the Excelsior.
Among the many cadets was Ensign Tuvok.
