Real Name : Warren Kenneth Worthington III
Relatives : Warren K. Worthington (Grandfather, Deceased), Warren K. Worthington Jr. (Father,
Deceased), Katheryn Worthington (Mother, Deceased), Candice "Candy" Southern-Worthington
(Wife, Deceased).
History : Warren Worthington’s mutation - wings which grew from his shoulder blades - first
appeared during adolescence, and soon he discovered that he could use those wings to fly. Calling
himself "The Avenging Angel," he came to New York city, where for a short period he was a crime
fighter. It was at that time that Professor Xavier contacted Worthington, inviting him to join his team
of X-Men. Shortening his name to "The Angel", Worthington, along with Havok, Ariel, The Beast
and Ice-Man, lived a life of high adventure while struggling to maintain peace between the human and
mutant populace.
When his parents died, Warren inherited their fortune, used some of it to finance his own short-lived
super-team, The Champions, and publicly revealed his identity and mutant ability. He then married
his long-time girlfriend, Candy Southern.
With the formation of X-Factor, the Angel was reunited with his team-mates, becoming one of the
team’s founding members, but an encounter with Apocalypse shattered his new found happiness.
Apocalypse abducted Worthington, altering his DNA and mutating him into what he deemed his
"Horseman of Death." This was the beginning of the end for the carefree Angel. His feathery wings
had been transformed into leathery "Bat-Wings," his fingertips ended in razor-like claws, and he
found himself with the ability to breath fire. Worse, his demeanour had changed. Now he was
colder, more aggressive. It was almost as if his soul had been taken from him along with his wings.
The breaking point for Worthington coincided with the death of Candy - a death which he felt
ultimately responsible for. While this trauma served to break Angel from Apocalypse’s hold, that
freedom came too late. With his wife dead, and his humanity gone, Worthington adopted the name
"The Fallen," and vanished.
When the Six began to form, the Fallen returned. Much like Bloodstorm, his recent whereabouts
remain a mystery. It seems as though he has rejoined his team-mates in an effort to find
self-redemption, although his violent actions seem to contradict this.
Powers: The Fallen retains the ability of flight that he had as the Angel. In addition, he can breathe
fire and possesses sharp claws at the end of his fingertips. As a result of Apocalypse’s genetic
tampering, he has enhanced strength.
