Babylon 5: The Crusades

Crusades! Hmmmm let's think. A spin-off of b5, technically. Franchizing, *sigh*! I never thought i would see it happen to b5. Oh well, life's not fair and i'm glad it's not fair.

A Call to arms, was good. Not great, but good. Sheridan was protrayed as a nutcase, but if you go to Z'ha'dum, you'll die, so it's really not him, or atleast he's not all there.

PLOT

THE YEAR IS 2267
With the threat of the Shadows gone, all is quiet on Earth -- too quiet. The Drakh vows revenge for the loss of their masters, the Shadows and aims its wrath at the humans on Earth, unleashing a deadly biogenetic plague. Only five years remain for the inhabitants of Earth unless an Alliance ship, The Excalibur, succeeds in its quest to find a cure for the mutating plague.

It takes place 5 years after the B5 arc, and about 2 or 3 years after the telepath war(FYIFJMS: The first officer in Crusade will be a telepath who, as a result of changes in policy after the teep War, is trying to integrate into a non-Psi Corps job. He said that as part of the war telepaths will be both under more control and have more freedom. The control part is that they will be subjected to mandatory scans. ). Basically, the Drakh(shadows's errand boys) are majorly pissed off at us humans(especially sheradin) So they decide to use their only "death cloud/planet killer/one helluva weapon" on earth. They fail. They have been beaten again. Yea, you maybe thinking. WEll, sorrry guess again. As they scurry away, they leave behind a non-returnable present. If you've heard the phrase "poisoning the well", this comes from the old Roman trick of poisoning the wells in villages when they were driven off, making the place unlivable for the winners, and other people. The Shadow allies do much the same here: they release a biogenetically engineered virus, a piece of leftover Shadow technology. Fortunately, they couldn't make it to kill humans right away. We get a stay of execution, for five years. If no cure is found or made, it will essentially wipe out every man, woman and child on Earth who was there when the virus was released. Ouch. But of course, there will be some affect sooner or later than the general population(health, age, etc.).

This virus is a 1000 years ahead of us so, we got a problem. So who comes to the rescue? Ranger fleet, of course, which goes out to scour worlds on the Rim and elsewhere for leftover First One cities, grave robbers. The First Ones are gone, but in many cases their ancient cities, their sealed vaults, their secrets, still remain. Somewhere, out there, in one of those ancient deserted cities, is the cure we need to save humanity. Yea, so easy. Wrong, there's going to be problems.

The lead ship, Excalibur. All those that watch the B5 eps. "A Late Delivery From Avalon", or those who like Authurian legend, know, that it is believed, that the excalibur would be return to the humans, in the hour of our greatest need. Well, think with that there could be no other time an excalubir would be needed then at that time.

WEll the first 2 episodes seem kewl. I know this is going to sound strange but galen's a smokin' hottie(lterally). It's the eyes, so intense. Fine, fine, i have a thing for bald men. Garibaldi in b5 never seemed to be a hottie, but when he shaved his head, damn. I'll write more later.
