Chronological Commments: This adventure takes place a week after last issue, so it would be early February, 1942. The Tarantula/Sandman flashback takes place in very late June/ very early July, 1941 ( per newspaper headline "June 22, 1941" and Sandman appears in his original costume after AS# 7, but in his new one in AS# 8 ).

Comments: Due to the Crisis on Infinte Earths, there is no Golden Age Superman to battle the Ultra-Humanite, but it is not known which heroes he battled during this period.
Also, at the end of the flashback, Dian Belmont is killed, but later appearances Post-Crisis show her to be living until 1999. Her "after" appearances have been changed to reflect the Post-Crisis continuity.
