The Silver Lions are dedicated to the protection of humanity and the world from various impending disasters, ranging from the work of Illuminati-like groups of magical and/or political power to full-fledged magical threats like the Invae or the Enemy. Members' religious beliefs range from atheism to Christianity and everywhere in-between (including voudoun, various pagan belief systems, and certain philosophical beliefs), so long as those beliefs do not contradict the goals of the group. Members are recruited on the basis of the strength of their belief and the congruence of those beliefs with those of the group. The only religious or magical traditions not represented among the group are those of the insect shamans, Petro rite voudoun, and similar groups.
Gravis is a young mage who attempted an ascension to the home metaplane of the invae soon after the achievement of his second initiatory grade. Since then, he has become almost consumed with an obsession with the destruction of all invae and insect shamans. Gravis has even cultivated some ties with the Spiders.
Gladius is one of the group of magicians calling themselves 'magi'. Gladius claims status as a Shadowmage aligned with the Void. Apparently, he has practiced magic aboard one of the orbitals for an extended period, providing a dangerous advantage. Which orbital, how he got there or how long he was there is not clear. Gladius is seemingly possessed of the ability to block another's access to magical ability. Psychological profiles identify the possibility of pathological insanity.
Harbinger is a rather dangerous specimen, indeed. Harbinger is one of the so-called 'Wild Talents', those who are too magically active to be mundane, but not enough to be considered an adept in the normal sense of the word. In particular, Harbinger's abilities are Astral Perception and the summoning of Watchers. A large amount of cyber augmentation would have left Harbinger on the road of the burnout long ago were it not for initiatory grades, of which he has obtained at least three.
Cyrix is a self-styled Technomancer. An absolute demon in the Matrix, Cyrix is no slouch in magical potential, either. The exact level of his abilities in either not supposed to be very much above that of many shadowrunners, exceptional when considering his abilities are split in two nearly contradictory directions. Some rumors say that he has some sort of 'Manajack' spell which allows him to deck without the usual problems associated with magic and the Matrix.
Lyle Canthros is a fully fledged, very experienced combat magician. Originally, he appeared in shadows in 2045, leaving in 2053 after several very lucrative runs to help found this magical group.
A dangerous physad, Yakamura worked in shadows as an assasin, where he met up with Lyle Canthros. In 2053, he, too, left the shadows to found The Silver Lions. Currently, Yakamura is engaged in the training of the few physads that have joined the group.
One of the extremely rare Nullmages, Kellerman is one of the 'Dark Elves' and has most recently come from Northern Britain, Scotland in particular.
An astral adept, Jaeger commonly hires out as an astral investigator and tracker. Jaeger commonly works as a hunter tracking down and bringing in vampires, free spirits, toxic shamans and the like.
A Wolf shaman most recently of the NAN. Talks-with-Shadows may be an ex-NAN-military member, most of his spells are focused toward that direction. He is an extremely skilled soldier, trained in both the usage of magic and of technology, and is possessed of at least nominal cyberware, probably a smartlink, datajack, and one level of either Boosted or Wired Reflexes.
Apparently a very skilled mage, Marissa seems to be a vampiress of some age. She is believed to be at least fifty, though she does not appear to be older than about 30. Further information on her cannot be found at this time. It would seem that she has quite a bit of money stashed away somewhere.
A free Earth Elemental with some skill in sorcery and a passion for music. It's not clear whether Bard is actually a member of this group or whether he is simply an observer who spends much of his time in the company of the Silver Lions.
A mage in training, Stonewolfe is a part-Amerind human. She is currently studying directly under the group's founder, Lyle Canthros, and may even be his lover. It is likely that Canthros put up her membership fee for her.
Joseph Nightraven is a human of Amerind descent. He shows a high probability for being one of the theorized 'physical mages'-a person who has the magical capabilities of both a magician and a physical adept. Nightraven is a member of a rising band called 'Redstar.' Most of his abilities tend toward theatrical or flashy illusions and effects. Exactly how he became a member of this group is not clear, neither are his reasons for joining.
Cartier is one of several new members to the group and has most recently come from southern France. Cartier, a satyr, seems to follow shamanic traditions and follow the 'Bacchus' totem common among his race.
Haven is a human, born and bred in Seattle. Haven seems to have grown up on the street, though he has little criminal activity in his past, probably because of the influence of the totem he follows, specifically, Dog. Haven is in his early forties.
'Brick' is a Physical Adept and a Troll. He is rather large, and very strong. Despite his name, Brick is a very shrewd individual. He grew up in a middle-class family, his parents worked for a lower tier corporation. He was born George Jameson in mid-2023. He attended a government-run public school, where he excelled in both academics and athletics. He attended college at a local university, where he earned a degree in Physical Science. Currently, Jameson teaches at a public high school. He is an active member of the Silver Lions, but he does not act as a magical super-soldier, as some of the group's members are wont to do. Jameson works to keep track of the magical group's expenses, making sure that bills are paid and funds invested.
'Doc' is actually one Michael Briggs, a human of African-American ancestry. Briggs is a licensed Bear shaman who runs a free clinic in Redmond. It seems that quite a few shadowrunners have come to his clinic and received help. Mr. Briggs runs this clinic from an obligation he feels toward the people of the street. This obligation stems from the fact that much of his life, through late adolescence, was spent on the street. Despite this, he was enrolled in a public school during much of this time and he did very well during this time. Briggs went on to work his way through college and even through med school. He is a skilled biotechnician, and is skilled in the use of healing magicks.
It is not known whether this is Samothrace's real name or not. It would appear to be an alias, but no proof of this can be found. What information can be found on Samothrace places him as being human, of Greek descent, and a fully licensed thaumaturge, practicing under the newly recognized 'magus' tradition. He is registered as being a 'luminomagus, aligned with lightning.' Few other documents can be found. Samothrace appears to be in his early twenties.
'Irish' is a young Fire Elementalist, a Fomori of Irish descent. Irish immigrated to the UCAS, and then to Seattle when the elves took over Ireland and created Tir Na nOg. Irish tends to toward rash decisions and has a fiery temper, perhaps in keeping with his magical alignment. Irish is a recent member and one of the few not initiated.
A houngan from Louisiana, coicidentally enough, Bayou Pete, as he is wont to be known, was born Peter Michaelson. Michaelson's mait tete would appear to be Ogoun. Michaelson seems to be a skillful combatant, though his alias belies the skill he also possesses for politics.
Legion, born Michael Dent, is a rather unique example of magical phenomena, since he was diagnosed with Multiple Personality Disorder while still in his teens. While it has been shown that the dominant Legion personality is not in the possession of any known magical abilities, most of the other known personalities seem to be in the control of at least one magical talent.
Kiln is the one and only Psionicist among the thirty or so members of the Silver Lions, which makes one wonder how he ever became a member in the first place. While the circumstances surrounding his membership remain unclear, it is known that Kiln is currently initiated at least one grade. It would appear that Kiln's talents extend beyond mere sorcery and that he either shed or never possessed the concentration geas of other psionicists.
