Graviton

Graviton was defeated in Thunderbolts #30 after there was a disruption in Graviton's gravitic force causing it to collapse inward and causing a black hole effect. So Graviton's been stuck in a place described as "A place that's no quite a place a gulf between here and there..." A figure in a dark red cloak approaches graviton offering him vision something he doesn't have. He's just had typical dreams and hasn't been too smart. The cloaked figure could have been the Crimson Cowl some how getting to where Graviton is, for some reason it just looked right. Maybe she is gathering another Masters of Evil team together or recruiting others to help her. It could have also been Veritas the self-appointed living embodiment of truth that used to the Sphinx in the New Warriors. Other than that just about anyone that could have got to where Graviton was and wear a dark red cloak.

The one in the dark red cloak next shows up following Moonstone. Karla has been unsuccessful at finding another job after trying to return to a normal life after having been pardoned. She confronts the cloaked figure and discovers they are pink skinned alien. The alien's name is M'Reel and offers Moonstone a job counselling an important man.

Moonstone is interested and later arrives at mansion north of Los Angeles with M'Reel. Moonstone is then shocked that her client is Graviton. He talks about her helping him rule the world and asks what she wants in return for the help. Unable to find a job Moonstone accepts one to find she is counselling Graviton, now this could lead in a few directions. Counselling him and stroking his ego was the offer from Graviton before when the Thunderbolts were to be killed and Moonstone laughed at the offer. Just what will she do now? She could support Graviton and make him into a better and smarter villain then he was before but that could cause similar problems as in the past. That is of course if she doesn't want to break the law, she could fall into her old villainous routines. She's the one most likely to stray now that the Thunderbolts have been pardoned. She might be able to even manipulate Graviton. He might think he is in control but she could figure out how to handle him and use him for her own needs, either to break him further or for villainous exploits/take the world.

If Moonstone decides to go along with Graviton and his plans he will be a challenging opponent. A more experienced Graviton and if the same tricks don't work twice it will certainly be more difficult along with Moonstone's expertise. It looks like the unskilled team of Redeemers possibly led by Captain America will confront Graviton. The Thunderbolts had a hard time and I don't know how ready the Redeemers would be to take on such a potentially big threat.

Taking over the world appears to be the purpose that has been given to him at least right now. If M'Reel is the one the recused Graviton, the alien sure thinks highly of him calling the "first one", I would think that M'Reel would be more in control but perhaps this is all to keep Graviton in the proper mood along with the comforts he deserves. M'Reel could only be a servant though and Graviton was saved by someone else maybe even another of M'Reel's alien race.

Karla has been counselling and teaching Graviton. She has brought him greater control over his powers, moving mountains as well as lifting the smallest pebble and depositing it in another continent through a person's head. Graviton thanks Karla in Thunderbolts #55 for her help physically and emotionally and then flies away. Karla wonders where he has gone and M'Reel tells her that he is doing his first task of saving the world.

Graviton arrives at Mt. Charteris only to discover that the Thunderbolts are no longer there. He decides that the Redeemers will do as well. Now that he is his new self with a new costume he asks who would like to be the first to die. Graviton's conflict with the Redeemers is set for Thunderbolts #56.

Graviton intends to set a foundation for a new earth, but how will this be saving the world? His twisted world view perhaps? Moonstone might very well benefit from this if she wants too. If Graviton is truly stable he won't really need anyone though.

Graviton continued his nefarious schemes by assaulting Mt. Charteris only to find that the Thunderbolts were no longer there. Instead Graviton found the Redeemers some of whom he promptly killed off. The fixer eventually joined with Moonstone and Graviton to save his own life. Continuing with his master plan he placed all the earth's heroes in the sky so they couldn't stop him, raised cities into the air, and then started to reshape the earth.

M'reel revealed his true colours as Graviton used more and more energy, M'reel was channelling it to open a doorway to a spatial anomaly where his race lives.

Baron Zemo as Citizen V seeing the dire situation asked Abe and Melissa for help. Receiving new equipment from the V-battalion they went to confront Graviton. The Fixer joined with them on the promise Citizen V would give him the government codes for his tech pac so he could gain freedom. Assaulting Graviton they were joined by Atlas now in Dallas body in an ionic state.

Graviton was beaten down by the Thunderbolts as Moonstone tired to decide what side to take. Eventually she would talk to Graviton and convince him to put all the cities that were in the air back onto the ground. Moonstone would also find out that Graviton killed Deanna Stockbridge earlier. He was afraid of Moonstone and hoped the death would intimidate her.

The Fixer killed M'Reel but it wasn't in time to close the spatial gateway that was being opened. M'reel was just using Graviton so the M'reel's race the P'tah could invade earth. Graviton tried to stop the invasion but his powers were causing the problem. Eventually the door would start to close with Gravition reducing the use of his powers but he was weak and a new problem emerged. The gateway might implode instead and Graviton was still leaking energy. Eventually the Thunderbolts would come up with a plan that would leave Songbird on earth and the rest of the Thunderbolts within a sound bubble with Graviton. Everything within the sound bubble would disappear and Songbird would be left alone on earth, Graviton's plans, as well as M'reel's defeated.
