One of the smaller things going on in the background of the book is Atlas going to a sports Bar-n-Grill which Man-killer is working at who was on the previous Masters of Evil the Thunderbolts fought in Thunderbolts #25. Atlas wrestles with the idea of whether he should tell the Thunderbolts about Man-Killer working at the Sports bar. He's supposed to be a hero so that's what he should do but he can't bring himself to do it. He knows how she feels about laying low until the next crime since he's been there himself but Man-killer might be also trying no to be involved in crime anymore and it wouldn't want to ruin that chance.
In Thunderbolts #39 while Man-killer works at the sports bar and tries to get a better reception on the Television since it's a news report about Mt. Charteris. She forgets to keep her superpowers in check and accidentally knocks the television loose from the wall. Man-killer ducks into a backroom saying she better get a broom while thinking about the news report that was about an electromagnetic disruption near Mt. Charteris where the Thunderbolts base is and is the team and particularly Atlas. She takes her Man-killer outfit out of a bag and thinks about how she has not worn it in weeks and how she might be able to help the Thunderbolts out but would give her a chance to redeem herself.
Man-killer is definitely showing signs of wanting to redeem herself and she already knows that Atlas is the one who comes to her bar regularly. It looks like she may come to the Thunderbolts aid in the future or maybe to help Atlas out when he's involved in something that leads to her further involvement with the Thunderbolts. Even though she has fought the Thunderbolts before they would probably give her a chance since they are basically all the same as her and with Atlas knowing her from the bar that would certainly help.
Wonder Man comes looking for Atlas in Thunderbolts #42 at the bar that Man-killer works at leading to Atlas and Man-killer revealing that they knew each other's true identities. Atlas needs help in his battle with Wonder Man and asks Man-killer for help. Man-killer doesn't help him saying that she was trying to lay low and Atlas blew her cover. Man-killer reminds Atlas that he used to know about things like that but now that he's been with the Thunderbolts he really doesn't. Her whole role as bartender was all part of an act. Man-killer even laughs at the thought that Atlas and her might have become romantically involved and that she would look for redemption as she runs away from the fight he is having with Wonder Man.
