Meteorite

Real Name: Valerie Barnhardt
First Appearance: Thunderbolts #48

The name Meteorite was once used by Moonstone as her heroic identify when the world was oblivious to the fact that the Thunderbolts were the Masters of evil in disguise. Moonstone dropped the name and now Barnhardt is using it. Barnhardt is a former air force pilot and her mother is Amelia Barnhardt (Sprocket) who was the second pilot for the New Warriors. She was raped when she was in the U.S. Air force and did something about it, by paralysing her attacker. He was also was her commanding officer and was encouraged to retire after they listened to his side of the story more than they did hers. Barnhardt joined up with the Redeemers program when she was given the chance to officially get rid of criminal misdemeanours that were on her record if she tested an experimental flight suit with the Redeemers.

Barnhardt was doing quite well in the Redeemer program at Mt.Charteris and was set to leave in a few weeks. This never happened when she along with the Redeemers came up against Graviton in Thunderbolts #56. Graviton took control of the invisible sheath that surrounded her and sent her into outer space. Meteorite was last seen near death taking her last few breaths that existed in the sheath when Graviton returned to Earth after having killed the Smuggler not much later.

She uses a flight suit that emits a soft hush of anti-graviton particles and uses a shield of hard air molecules that wraps around her. Through the use of the forward thrust control of the hard air sheath a battering ram can be created that is powerful enough to knock over the Beetle.
