Falmouth Station is a Large artificial satellite orbiting the Lone gas giant in system.  Built as a jumping off point to the unknown regions of the Outland Subsector Falmouth station was one of the last known civilized areas and stopping point for traders and explorers into the region.  The Artificial Station has a huge umbilical chord streaming Down into the gas giant and gathering hydrogen from it to power its massive power plant.  As other worlds became settled in the outland Subsector the Naval station and scout base moved on to other systems.  This exodus would have spelled doom for many other systems but, Falmouths government quickly put the vacated space to good use.  Several Megacorperations and merchant fleets use the space to maintain their vessels and Falmouth station has become a trading hub into the newer Outland Subsector.

The influx of new trade and the desire for merchants to obtain more exotic goods has made the world a trade hub accepting anything new in the way of trade from the outer regions. Many merchant unwilling or unable to take the risks of frontier trades pick up goods from those exotic worlds to take inward to the more developed systems.

To maintain the base Falmouth has to impose a 15% Tariff on all trade goods but in return traders are free to use government brokers at no extra
