Within the ancient crypt of Xondra-Lheers
Foolishly, I sought forbidden teaching
The answers I had searched for, many teachers
Close at times, but never, ever reaching.
In fabled Leng 'twas told about this place
That answered all, but only for a price.
Dare I, look upon the Dark One's face,
Would even I, for knowledge pay this price?
The mummy in the sarcophagus was mute,
No answer could I pry from bones and dust.
But still I spoke the words... so resolute,
In eldritch lore, I had placed all my trust.
I shuddered as the thing opened its eyes
And told me when the Old Ones would arise.
