Autosuggestion Intervention by a spirit/ghost |
|
|
If
telekenesis (or psychokinetic ability) exists, which I
personally doubt, there is a possibility that in a séance
the questions are answered by those who ask them.
The participant who knows the answer also controls the
movement of the glass or pointer. It is likely that
control of the movement is subconscious so the mechanism
is closer to self-delusion than to fraud. Note also
that the glass would not necessarily have to move all the
way to each letter, maybe just enough for the effects
discussed in the Autosuggestion section to come
into play. If this is the mechanism a séance should be able to answer questions that a participant knows the answer to but not otherwise. If the séance can answer questions that are not known and could not be known, or guessed, you would have to tend to believe that another mechanism was in operation. For a discussion of incorrect answers see Self-Delusion. |
