I think the thing I like the most is the Dawn Colorforms set. Why don't I have one in my box of toys?
But I am torn. Maybe what I really want the most is a dawn Flower Stand display.
Like every Dawn collector, I have a Dawn clothes box. Actually, I have several. How can you not get more that one when they have the HIPPEST, GROOVIEST go-cat-go! art. (Barbie fans, eat your hearts out.)
Dawn had several different "environments" available, in which you could better appreciate her full glory. (Due to space limitations in my apartment, I don't actually have any of these at present.) There was a beauty pageant, a dress shop, a fashion show, all with backdrops and moving parts that allowed Dawn to tour through these mini-worlds.
There was also a "dance party," but it was relatively unimpressive, although it did allow the hard-leg dancing dolls-Fancy Feet and Kevin- to do their stuff.
There were also two dawn furniture sets: an slighly off-sized apartment and a beauty parlor (complete with bottles of "sham"poo). Both were made of hard plastic. (I have the beauty parlor... it's pretty cute. Dawn is sitting in the chair in her original blue dress and all of the other dolls are paying her homage.)
Then there's other wierd stuff- like the car, the sofa-phone, the mirrors
(Thanks for giving me one, Chantell!)
and paper dolls (there are several different kinds, and I have some of contents of the books on this link) and coloring books,
the purse,
the music box,
and a
lunch box, with a thermos
I have even seen a special Dawn Majorette stadium, which I should have bought immediately. Please send me a picture of this item if you have one!
But the ultimate oddball dawn collectible is apparently...
The Dawn Umbrella. I don't have one of these yet, either, but competetive bidders like it! One recently sold for $400!
