Even though King Hedyragen can't die, he can easily be defeated. If he gets too mad, he doesn't think, and can hurt himself, even rip his wings off! Since his wings where already off, he almost paralyzed himself.
He ran into Godzilla, and was knocked unconscious. Godzilla, however, was left unscratched. What he did next was unthinkable.
