Origin: After overhearing a plan to overthrow God from Asmodel, King of the Bull angels, Zauriel was not going to participate in their little war instead he renounced his Angelhood. He had fallen in love with the woman he was supposed to protect. When Asmodel came gunning for Zauriel because he thought Zauriel was going to tell God about his plans, instead of finding Zauriel he found Shannon, Zauriel's love. Zauriel had another angel kill him so he could go to Heaven and stop Asmodel from destroying Heaven and to get Shannon back. When the forces of Hell retreated Asmodel surrendered to Zauriel, Asmodel was sent to Hell and Zauriel was revived. Neron (The ruler of Hell in the D.C. universe) returned Shannon, but she was in love with her Friend, Jerry. After that Zauriel joined the JLA.
