The World of Magick Part Six
In moments all three were awake. The night was still dark but the rustling sounds immediately caused enough attention to let them know life ran in the shadows. The pegasus snorted softly then gestured his head. Fear was evident in Aloysius' eyes as two red eyes peered from a clump of bushes barley visible.
Then the smell of burning leaves accompanied flickering flames in the distance. Then suddenly the flames turned into a ray of light as arrows with their tips on fire struck into the clearing. The light surprised the humans and the horse yelled, "Get on my back soon! We must get out of here!"
Karan jumped to the pegasus' side and almost mounted him when she felt a sharp pain along her back. Giran screamed and she turned around to see one of the strangest creatures she ever saw.
It stood upright and looked like a large green lizard. But it's back seemed to be covered by an Armadillo's shell. It's black and yellow eyes blinked at her briefly and pointed a wooden spear at her, proding her away from the horse.
Karan couldn't help but scream seeing this too. As she backed away more of the lizard creatures appeared. They were armed, the humans weren't and it appeared the large lizards wanted them to go somewhere...but where?
