Guests of Honor

Koichi Tsunoda. Yamato (Star Blazers for US viewers) drawing director.

Kazuto Nakazawa. El Hazard character designer. He did a sketch of Ifurita for me. Arigato gozimasu!

Akira Kamiya. Voice actor for Roy Fokker in Macross, also the voice actor for Ryo in City Hunter (his favorite voice acting role. :) He also did the voice of the father of Sailor Saturn in Sailor Moon.

Amy Howard. US voice actor, did Nova in Star Blazers. A very nice and friendly lady! She was a surprise guest. They didn't even have a little bio in the booklet they handed out, it was on a piece paper stuck in the booklet. My sister and I had a fun chat with her on Thursday evening. Her fiance kindly took the picture on my camera you see here of my sister and I with her.

Brett Weaver. US voice actor, and Cajun! A very funny guy. He did a Gambit monologue in a real Cajun dialect to show how Gambit should have sounded. (Gambit, for the anime fans here, is a character in Marvel's X-men comics.) Brett mocked Chris Potter's Gambit pseudo Cajun dialect and then said: "He sounded like he was from Detriot!" LOL.

Chiho Saito, Kunihiko Ikurahara, and Yuu Watase at the Friday opening ceremony. Chiho Saito was the creator of the Utena manga, Kunihiko Ikurahara was the director of the Utena anime, and Yuu Watase is the creator of Fushigi Yuugi and Ayashi no Ceres manga.

Yuu Watase gives Tamaneko (Heather) a hug. She likes to see cosplayers for her characters but when she saw Tamaneko she got very excited and happy. It was an excellently crafted costume. Deservedly Heather won the best of show prize at the cosplay awards. :)
