The Clan MacStar is mourning the passing of one of there members and also a long time poster to the Rysher Highlander forum. She posted as Kitana (her real name) and was also known by her Clan name, Starblade. Our most heartfelt sympathies to her friends and family.

Hi everyone
For those who don't know about it, Highlander DownUnder's major Millennium Project is 'The Retrospectives' - revisiting every episode from #1 and mounting as much information as we have about them on their own site - called, naturally, The Retrospectives. They are on my own web pages and can always be accessed via Carmel's Highlander Pages if you ever forget the URL. Eventually they will also be on the HLDU web site. So far we have mounted everything up to Free Fall. We try and mount everything weekly (yes - it's a l-o-n-g project....:-) Anyway, the RETRO URL is: The Retrospectives

Kind regards

"Best of Highlander" is a bit of a hybrid. It's a book and it's a video. It should be out in late Summer/early Fall.

Here's the working description for the catalogue:

"The Best of Highlander"
Go behind the scenes with Maureen Russell (author of "Highlander: the Complete Watcher's Guide") as she continues her journey with Highlander.

Join her as she encounters all Four Horsemen in England, as she spends two days in the park with sword masters F. Braun McAsh and Anthony De Longis while they recreate some of Highlander's sword magic and, as she learns even more about the stories behind the story of 13 of Highlander's "best" episodes.

Did you know that it was gnat season in Vancouver when parts of "Homeland" were filmed?

Did you know that Jim Byrnes owes a toast to "Something Wicked" for his finding a pint in Ireland on a Sunday night?

Or that Adrian Paul and Anthony De Longis gave a stirring rendition of "Singing in the Rain" while filming the climatic sword fight in "Duende" in a torrential downpour?

Meet the Actors: Adrian Paul, Stan Kirsch, Jim Byrnes, Peter Wingfield, Valentine Pelka, Marcus Testory, Richard Ridings, Michael J. Jackson & Anthony De Longis. The Writer: David Abramowitz. The Sword Master: F. Braun McAsh. The Directors: Adrian Paul, Dennis Berry. The Composer: Roger Bellon. The Creative Consultant, Post Production: Don Paonessa. The Producer: Ken Gord. The Executive Producer: Bill Panzer

The adventure continues (end quoted text)

Hope that helps! Maureen

Best of Highlander

(Who knew there was a right time of day to post? ;-) Thanks to Rottie for reposting.)

To try and answer some questions...
Yes, BoH is a book. The manuscript is in and I've chosen photographs. :-) But it is also a video. *At the moment*, the planned set-up is the thirteen "best" episodes with 20-30 minutes of video after each episode. This footage will include actors, directors, writers, etc. talking about the episodes. There is also sword demo footage for many of them. Nearly everyone participated and as I said, it was great fun.

As to Duncan mugs... to my knowledge no new Duncan mugs, but I hear rumors of a sword... :-)

As to the Cruise... I wouldn't miss it! They invited me, I said yes. :-) And we have some really fun events planned with me and the gentlemen. Those of you at SSW might have heard me tip this, but I think I'd better say... stay tuned for more Cruise info. :-)

Re: Best of Highlander--which 13

Well, how we got the "best" (and, I must add, Bill Panzer doesn't like the term "best," "best" was just easiest. There could be a "best" volume 2!) is a rather long story, but the short version is that it was a combination of the USA Network poll and the highlander-official.com poll.

As to which 13... is was supposed to be ten, but we never could manage ten, esp. with the two-parters, so...

Here goes... (in order)
Band of Brothers, Legacy, The Samurai, Methos, Homeland, Something Wicked/Deliverance, Methuselah's Gift, Till Death, The End of Innocence, Comes A Horseman/Revelation 6:8, Duende

Yes, I know, not everyone agrees with this list, not even those on the show, but there it is.
