Blake Hodgetts

From the Pacific Northwest

This is the album cover.

From what I've been told, Blake Hodgetts works for one of my favorite software companies, Symantec. Again, from what I've been told, he is a bar piano player. A good one, at that.

When he contacted me - would you sell my CD at Southern Fried Filk - I said, send me a copy so I can check it out. He did. I was blown away . . . by one song in particular, "The Great Nebraska Sea." I almost immediately got back to him and asked him to send me CDs.

Blake Hodgetts is the sort of instrumentalist you don't always find on a filk CD. I'd say his ability is up there with Mary Crowell (she being the Gafilk "tirch singer"). In my humble opinion, you'll enjoy him. A LOT!

The cover you can see at the top. The play list is below:

  1. One Filker's Week
  2. The Reader
  3. Proteins
  4. Virtual Date
  5. The Star Trek Next Generation Episode Guide
  6. The Inner Light
  7. Hot Point, Warm Heart
  8. The Little Blue Man
  9. Boundless?
  10. The Great Nebraska Sea
  11. Prisoners of Time
  12. A Habitrail Named Klein
  13. Donnymere Glade
  14. My Love Was Like the Moon
  15. Lost Things

The CD is available for $16.00.
