I've not met Jeff and Maya Bohnhoff. My first contact with them was an e-mail where they told me they had put a CD together, would I be interested in selling it. After getting a sampler, I was amazed: they had taken popular music of the 1960's and 70's (both rock and non) and filked them. The first time I listened to "Hotel Dealer Floor," I thought "waita minute, this is the original song," until I heard Maya singing the vocals. "This isn't the Eagles, this is filk! Rock and roll filk!" Well, why not? It's a great album. Very professionally done. I just never really considered doing filk rock as it's done here. This is NOT your parent's filk stuff.
