Goat Years and their Elements
Goat is linked to the ancient Chinese element of fire. Fire is a dynamic, exciting, and energetic sign. In the case of goats, fire expresses itself in their imaginative and creative abilities. Normally, fire people are as fiery as the sign suggests. The easygoing and carefree nature of the goat, however, dampens their fiery sides, which are kept well hidden until times of crisis.
Fire - Fire
1907, 1967
Fire is the goat's natural element. Double fire goats are blessed with courage and intuition. These goats are dramatic and innovative, yet they have a knack for making their wild ideas seem safe and logical. They do, however, have a tendency to be reckless and of not looking before they leap. Goats are never very good at managing their money, and double fire goats are even worse. Money almost burns holes in their pockets. As with all fire types, these goats are attractive and appealing people. They are gentle and sympathetic but intolerant of those they consider fools.
Fire - Earth
1919, 1979
Earth grounds the goat. It brings them down to earth and keeps their minds out of the clouds for too long. Earth bestowd steadfastness and the ability to work hard on the goat. These goats are more materialsitic than the rest of the breed. Atypically, earth goats are capble of fulfilling their own material needs and are not so dependent on others to organize them. Earth goats are basically cheerful and optimistic people but when wronged they can complain too much. Earth signs can, at times, be so cautious and practical that they stagnate.
Fire - Metal
1931, 1991
Metal strengthens the goat. It brings determination and perseverance to an otherwise work-shy type of person. Fire combines with metal to give these people more presence than typical goats. Metal goats are still sensitive but not as vulnerable as usual. In fact, other people do not realize how sensitive and affectionate these goats really are underneath their harsh exteriors. As with all metal types, these are very ambitious people; but their ambitions will be directed toward typically goatlike goals - achieving in the arts, for example.
Fire - Water

Fluid water makes the goat even more capricious than usual. Water goats are incredibly sensitive people and very perceptive emotionally. This can hamper them as they will internalize other people' problems and may become worriers. Fire aligned with water makes these people able to get thier own way - but very subtly. Surprisingly, water goats are conservative people; they are fearful of change and do not like to take risks.
Fire - Wood
1955, 2015
Wood is a creative element associated with growth, renewal, and innovation. Combined with the goat's imagination, this makes wood goats highly artistic. It also heightens the goat's sensitive nature. Unlike water goats, however, wood makes goats very compassionate people and not worriers. These people are generous with their time and money for good causes that they believe in; but they are more likely to be working in the local charity shop than far away in a refugee camp.
