This is the match that secured both Misery and Tom Tennant's legacy as two of the sickest men in the United States. The punishment they endured in this one was just ridiculous. Though both had already held title's by this point, this is the match that got them noticed by the big federations. A full description is linked elsewhere on this page.
Seth Rage hand picked Misery to be the final man he faced in his career. While Misery and Rage were never really friends, Misery respected him and thus accepted the challenge. As I am sure you guessed, a hard fought war ensued.
The final match of a grueling tournament to crown the first DBW champion. Early in the careers of both men, they had yet to become friends. In the end Misery came out on top, achieving his first taste of Title Glory in the United States. On a side note, the war between Rage and Misery would continue, leading to the famous moment when Tom and Misery crucifed Rage onto a cross with barbed wire, and hung him from a construction crane.
During my time running Total Elimination Wrestling, I did my best to stay out of the ring, then Harvest showed up. He continually taunted me, and did things to draw my ire, until finally I agreed to step into the ring with him. But it would not be a normal match, it would be an invention of my own....Thunderdome. This bloodbath ended with me coming out on top, Harvest disappearing to lick his wounds, and an oath to never do this match again.
Two men who respect one another to the ends of the earth, and would gladly fight through hell to help the other. But when it came time to prove who was the better man, there was only one way to do it....thirty feet in the air.
This match was nothing short of brutal, and in the end, Preacher proved to be the better man on this particular night. This match is most famous for Misery's knee being destroyed the first time.
This is more of a longstanding thing, than just a particular match. Wildfire had been in the business for a while, but I took him under my wing and helped turn him into the caliber athlete he is today. Of course, the student had to rebel against the teacher, and a rivalry was born. 'Fire and I did just about everything imaginable to one another, and are probably on equal footing in wins. He did leave me quite a nasty scar, after trying to gouge out my eye with a metal spike.
TMKAC decided he needed to use me to make an impact. During the escalation of the feud, he attacked my pregnant at the time wife, Anna. This sent me into a rage, the likes of which had not been seen in some time. Therefore it was decided that we would settle it in the match I pioneered. I lost this match, but there is no disappointment in that....it was a war..and although he was technically a winner...I guarantee you he didn't feel like one.
The time had come, I had done all there was to do in the UWL. I made the decision to retire from the compant, and take my spot in the Hall of Fame. But, I had to have one last match before I went. I realized that there was only one man who had been there as long as I had, Dynamite. Apart from a tag match in the early days of the company, we had never met. Therefore it was set...
This was an all out war, that looking back, I have no idea how either of us survived. Some of the shots we took, and things we did should have killed us. But hey, when a drunk and a masochist decide to have a war...They Do It Right!!
Misery had finally patched up his differences with the AGW. There World Champion was a young, talented monster of a man called Nelson. They were in opposing stables, and a fight seemed natural. As always Misery did what he could to get into the head of the young brit, but then Nelson retaliated with something so vile, that even Misery's biggest detractors were calling for blood.
He desecrated the tomb of Misery's Lost Love.
When they finally went at it, not even the wrath of god himself could stop Misery. Nelson overmatched, overpowered, and outwrestled Misery that night, but no matter what Nelson gave to him, Misery would not stay down. In the end, Misery gained a small measure of revenge defeating Nelson, and claiming his first AGW World Heavyweight Title.
He swore he would never do it again, but when the man Misery considered his student betrayed him....there was no other choice. Sean Tylor would commit numerous atrocitys against Misery and those he cared for before the match, and when the time finally came, Misery was hellbent on destroying what he helped create.
This match may have overtaken the Exploding Barbed Wire Dynamite Cage match as the nastiest match to have ever been wrestled on U.S. soil. Misery won the match, but again destroyed his knee in the process. On the other side of the coin, at such a young age, Sean Tylor may never be the same again.
I will post more as they happen, or as I finally remember them!!!
