Raistlin Majere was born in the small tree top community of Solace in 326 AC. Born a twin his brother Caramon was a muscular warrior, jovial and boisterous. Raistlin was his opposite physically frail and sickly but intelligent beyond measure. Their half-sister Kitiara Uth Matar raised them. Caramon loved Raistlin more than anything and stood up for him whenever he was threatened. Raistlin loved Caramon as well but resented having to rely on him for protection. In a sense they were two halves of the same person. Caramon was the body and Raistlin was the mind. They were one of the best examples of sword and sorcery combining smoothly. They were rarely separated and made a tremendous team. Raistlin discovered his penchant for the mystical arts at a young age. After watching a sleight of hand illusionist, that had some minor magical skills, at a local fair Raistlin was able to duplicate every one of the illusionists tricks effortlessly and flawlessly. After much debate, Raistlins parents enrolled him in the local mage school by Crystalmyr Lake. At the school Raistlin proved himself and amazed his teachers. Although Raistlin was ridiculed and persecuted by his peers throughout his childhood he demonstrated his prowess when he became the youngest mage to ever take the test at the Tower of High Sorcery in Wayreth. Par-Salian invited Raistlin to take the test in a hope of teaching him compassion. The test is designed to be a challenge to weed out the inexperienced and irresponsible striving to become mage's. The consequence of failure is death. In this way the mages of Krynn could maintain the proper standards for the magic they loved. Upon receiving the invitation Raistlin and Caramon traveled to the tower. During Raistlin's test he was confronted with a difficult situation and chose a path that many believe was wrong. The life of Raistlin is long and complicated and I will try to add more in the future.
