A girl kills her father and both Cade and Jordan suspect Gua involvement, discovering an alien which has found the ability to jump bodies at will.
This is a strange episode, featuring a vast amount of detective work and not a whole lot of plot. What it does provide is some quality shocks as the body-hopper makes a girl murder her father in the nasty cliffhanger and a small boy come after his mother and Cade with a knife later on. It just seems a little uneven.
The Gua jumps bodies a few times searching for a device that will allow consciousness transfer at will for all of the aliens. Mabus turns up to be grumpy for a bit, which isn't particularly worthwhile, and Jordan is there to take the action away from Eddie, which is something of a shame. Once the Gua jumps into Cade's body, it seems Jordan is going to shoot him to put an end to the alien. Neatly playing on the audience not trusting the new arrival yet, it seems that's just what she's done, but having both she and Eddie shooting Cade in the space of four episodes seems a little like overkill.
There are a couple of big problems with the episode. Firstly, Sebastian Spence's excessive 'villain' overacting should clue in Eddie and Jordan that Cade isn't Cade in seconds, yet they don't notice until it's too late. Secondly, there's the ending. With five minutes to go and Cade with someone else in his body, Eddie suddenly manages to digitally remove the Gua from Foster's mind without any side-effects and seemingly with no trouble at all. It makes for an anti-climactic finish and a rather disappointing one, and the promise of a new weapon against the Gua is also killed off before it's been used, which is a shame. Surely it's time to fight back now?
