First Wave: Eyes of the Gua

A Gua agent is sent out to kill the descendents of Nostradamus, and Cade must stop him before he completes his task and Mabus can gain the man's prophetic knowledge.

A novel twist on the usual approach as Mabus starts a more open campaign to destroy any potential threats to his race. It takes Cade and Eddie a lot of effort and much research to track down the complicated reason for each of the murders that occur, but it shows them off to their best: Eddie providing the brains and Foster providing on-the-spot insight. Eddie once again gets the chance to get out and about when he enters a police station, and Joshua puts in another appearance.

Roger R Cross's performance is where the main meat of the story lies as we discover new information about Joshua and realize that he's not the most trustworthy of people. He may want the invasion to stop, but not at the loss of his people. It's an important lesson that Cade learns in his dealings, and it provides a new twist that will keep the character unpredictable just as we thought he was here to help.

The premise itself is rather unpleasant and well-realized, and the connection to Nostradamus an inspired little conceit. Whether any of his descendents are likely to be living in America is debatable, but it links neatly back to the main thrust of the show's narrative and provides plenty of meat for the story.
