Jordan visits a young girl who is somehow connecting with Mabus, but the link is killing her and the team must find a way to sever it.
It's difficult to know what to make of this episode. On the one hand, the young girl is a great actress who plays a range of emotions extremely well, from childlike innocence to horror at what is happening to her. Her scenes with Traci Lords come across very well, and the bond is quite touching.
It's the point of the story that escapes me. It seems that the whole idea is for Mabus to somehow reach Jordan, for whom he has 'plans', no doubt secret and sinister ones. By the end of the story, the kid is okay and Jordan seems alright, yet Mabus had plenty of time to somehow influence either of them. Maybe he has and we'll get to see it a few episodes down the line, but if not, it's the world's most insane evil plan: find any old young girl, give her strange visions, wait, possibly for months, for Jordan to turn up, then make your move. Why? Surely there must be a quicker way to reach her than this.
Meanwhile, Cade and Eddie are kept out and about, with the script writer throwing everything at them, from police to Gua agents, to stop them accomplishing anything. While it succeeds in keeping them from Jordan for a while, it does start to look suspiciously like heavy padding after a while, making the episode seem a little light for what purports to be a major event.
