When the amnesiac young man who uncannily resembled the former villain Magneto turned up in a Guatemala convent, it seemed that the Master of Magnetism had returned. The nun who befriended him named him Joseph, and so he has been ever since. When Rogue met up with him, she filled him in a bit more on "his" (Magneto's) past. His memories seemed wiped out, and his intentions nothing but good, so she brought him back home to the X-Men. Constantly under suspicion by the other team members for his questionable past, he nonetheless has fought bravely by their side, even developing something of a bond with Rogue. This past Christmas, he gave her the greatest gift possible by creating a place where she could touch others without fear of draining their powers. A gift she never shared with Gambit, who was not very happy with time and attention Joseph received from her. The two eventually came to blows over her affection, Gambit attacking Joseph in a moment of misunderstanding. Though he could have easily killed Gambit, Joseph merely bound him in metal, stopping his attack cold. Possessing the same mastery of magnetism as Magneto had, there seemed no reason to doubt his identity. But Joseph has been living a lie....Recently, it has been revealed that Magneto is still alive, and seems to bear a great hatred for Joseph, calling him an "Abomination". So who is Joseph really? He has just left the X-Men with the super-hero, Sabra, to find out, hot on the trail of the true Magneto.
Other distinguishing features: Joseph's physical
appearance is identical to that of Magneto in his early
twenties.
Stength level: Joseph can use his magnetic powers to
increase his physical strength up through Class 100 (the
ability to lift over 100 tons)
Known superhuman powers: Ability to control
magnetism and other related forces
