My heart silently breaks
as your tears run free
I feel the pain
Like it just happened to me

My mind travels back
To years gone by
To relive many heartaches
And a long night's cry

I wish I could erase
The pain that you feel
It's hard to see now
But your heart will soon heal

It will see more pain
But will also see happiness
As well as sunshine and rain

Each heartache you endure
Is just a piece of the puzzle

Quickly she appreared
And quickly she will leave
But the fabric of our friendship
Is a tight and heavy weave

We bonded from day on
And shared a dream or two
A line between our hearts
Fate's pen neatly drew

We laughed until it hurt
And also shared some tears
A friendship of two months
Seems a lot more like 2 years

Though missing her will hurt
I'll keep the pain I feel
For that is what tells me
Our friendship is for real

I will not say good-bye
When it’s time for her to go
Our paths are meant to cross again
Time, this truth, will show

So, an embrace we will share
And I’ll try not to cry
Then as she walks out the door
I’ll thank God for bringing her by
