 Dedicated to Mom and Daddy

The "I Do's" were said and they were wedThat sunny summer day
The cake was cut, the car door shut
And they were on their way

The honeymoon ended way too soon
 Didn't even get a tan
Packing the stuff, moving is rough
 And so their life began

Dinners are burned, lessons are learned
 Arguments are lost and won
Tears are shed, "I'm Sorrys" are said
 Making up is fun

 Babies come one by one
They're eight and five and three
Thank God above for the love
 That they have given me

Years fly by and now I cry
 The baby leaves tonight
By setting sun the vows are done
 Now he has a wife

 Alone again, I wonder when
My love for you was lost
I know it's around it must be found
 No matter what the cost

 New grandbabies and great grandbabies
 Many have come along
Eight girls, five boys they bring us joys
 Singing their sweet songs

The day is near I have no fear
 Please don't leave me alone
I hope we can go hand in hand
 To our Heavenly Home

 They made it through fifty-two
 Years of thick and thin
 By sharing all, standing tall,
 Shutting up and giving in

So we see how it must be
 Sometimes a jolting carriage
The ups and downs, the smiles and frowns
Make the seasons of a marriage

Please Note: The technicalities of this poem are not equal with the facts of my parent's marriage. I was trying to convey that through everything, they were always there for each other.
