The picture above shows the Satay Club at Clarke Quay. Clarke Quay is beside the
Singapore River, the river which started off on a progressive track since the
1820s. Upon arrival, you will be greeted by the fragrant grilled satay aroma.
The spicy sambal chilli will also tickle your throat. A warm
welcome to one and all, give your "impatient", growling stomach the treat of
a lifetime.
Down the right flank, you will see busy stallholders preparing food for their
customers . There is a row of ten stalls, all on trolleys, to bring back the
nostalgic memories of road side stalls selling food in the past.
Don't stand on ceremony, feel free to take a seat.
As you are wondering which food to choose from, a sweet-smelling aroma,
somewhat consisting of burnt butter and coconut milk, drifted past your nose.
Guided by the irresistible fragrance, you walk towards the row of stalls and
a smiling hawker greets you, "Can I help you?" Your mouth can't wait any
longer. An eager "Yes!" rushed out.
Little did you realise that you have tasted a few dishes already and are
still craving for more.
To bring you closer to the different kinds of Malay
food, an array of Malay cuisines lay before you. (slurp)
